We have been continuing to enjoy our summer! I can't believe what a difference this summer has been from last summer, it seems like we have a beautiful day everyday! Ben and my routine is pretty much the same each day. He wakes up around 7:00, it's breakfast, walk, park, lunch, nap, play some more, get ready for dinner, bedtime. It's like that most days, but we have also been doing a bunch of fun things too.
At the beginning of August we spent some time up north at a cabin with some of our good friends. We had a really good time. It was right on a small lake, and had a paddle boat, hammock, kayaks, a small beach, and fire pit. The cabin was more like a house than a cabin and we had plenty of room for the six adults and 4 kids. The weather was beautiful as well.
A few weeks ago Ben and I had a really special day. I was sick of our normal routine so we went to the Children's Museum downtown, had lunch at my favorite Mexican restaurant, came home to take a nap, then went to the Wisconsin State Fair with Phil and one of his friends. Ben really enjoyed looking at all the farm animals and even liked putting his finger in the baby chicks' cage so they could peck him! He also got to have his first taste of fair food which included grilled cheese, a beef stick, and a frozen chocolate covered banana. It was an awesome day!
The past few weeks I have been staying pretty busy with packing. We are going to be moving on September 1st. We didn't find a house, but we are going to be moving into a town house. It is 3 bedrooms, has a yard, basement, and a garage. My good friend Glory and her family live 3 blocks away. She has a little boy that is 2 months older than Ben. Phil's work is only 3 minutes away. It is in a nice residential neighborhood with sidewalks and a park only a few blocks away. I am soooo excited to have more room and to be able to be situated before the new baby comes!
My pregnancy is going well. The baby is definitely getting bigger, along with my belly! He can really pack a punch now with his kicks, and the kid is only about 2 lbs! I was freaking out yesterday to Phil when I was feeling like my stomach couldn't get any bigger, and I realized I still have 3 months to go with baby packing on approximately 6 more lbs! But I know this will all be a distant memory. Glory reminded me after she had her son, that they are a lot easier to take care of when they are inside of you! I thought that was a good point.
Ever since yesterday Ben has found out that he can "fall" out of his crib. I was eating lunch and he was supposed to be taking a nap when all of a sudden he walks right out of his bedroom! I couldn't believe it! I put him back and he didn't try to get out, and he was fine at night too. However, today during his "naptime" he got out twice! So I went and got his pack and play. He ending finally taking a nap in that. So it looks like we are going to be transitioning to a different bed here pretty quick. He has also been quite the chatty kathy too. He always says, "Hi" to everyone that we see. He tries to talk in sentences but they are like this, "truck, beep-beep, park." Which means:trucks beep at you at the park. Or "bike, park, fall". Which means: people might fall off their bike at the park. He is quite concerned with people falling, I think because he himself falls so much. We were walking at the mall today and a lady was standing on a ladder and Ben was concerned she was going to fall. Then today I was tipping on my chair and Ben was worried about me falling too. He is quite the character and we have been having a lot of fun with him.
That is all for now, hope everyone is enjoying the summer!
