Since our last posting we have had some sad news. Ben's Great Grandpa Schmidt passed away. He had been battling Parkinson's for about the past 10 years. It certainly is bittersweet. We all miss and love him very much. However, we know he is in heaven and has a new, perfect body. When Ben and I visited him last August he showed me all his basketball pictures and shared many stories. He played for Concordia College in Milwaukee and was quite the athlete! So I could just picture him up in heaven playing some hoops with his old college friends! Many family members made it to St. Louis for the funeral. Although this was a sad time, it was wonderful for us all to be together.
We have been enjoying the nice weather by going on walks and playing at the park. It is so nice to be able to get out of the house. Going outside is by far Ben's favorite activity. He has been quite the talker, but of course you need to be able to understand his language. His words of the week are: go gawk (go walk) and that's hot. He probably says these about 30 times a day!
We are looking forward to having Grandma Teena and Grandpa Rudy here for Easter. Hopefully we will have nice weather for lots of gawk's :)
