It is officially winter in Wisconsin! We haven't had too much snow this winter, but this past week we got 18 inches in 2 days! It is on days like these that I am glad we are not responsible for clearing the snow from our driveway! However, Phil did snow blow on one of the days. It was pretty crazy seeing that much snow. According to the news, the last time we had snow like that it was 1999.
We have been trying to keep ourselves entertained since we are basically home bound much of the time. Ben has "school" on Wednesdays so that is a nice way to break up our week. Otherwise Ben's favorite toys to play with have been his trains and firetrucks. He has also done more baking. He helped me make the chocolate cake for my birthday, we also made peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookies, and pumpkin bread! I am sure you can guess that he loves to lick the beaters! He has been doing good with Owen too. Sometimes he will give Owen a toy and walk away, waiting to see what he will do with it. The other day while I was making dinner Owen started to cry. Ben grabbed some grated cheese which I thought he was going to eat. A few minutes later I went to check on Owen who was in his swing and there on the tray was the cheese Ben had taken. He was trying to share it with his crying brother!
Owen has been growing like crazy! He was born 7lb 11 oz and 21 inches and at his 2 month check up he was 13 lb 1 0z and 25 3/4 inches! He also is such a good baby (however I noticed in most of the pictures here he is crying). He goes to bed smiling and cooing and wakes up that way too! I could just sit there all day and play with him. Owen's favorite activities are eating and sleeping.
Phil surprised us all for my birthday to a trip to Wisconsin Dells. We stayed in a huge room that even had 2 fireplaces and a jacuzzi tub over looking the lake! Ben loved the water park and for the first week after we got home he kept saying, "more water park." I enjoyed watching him and Phil playing in the water. The place where we stayed had a perfect kid sized water park. It was a great get away!
Well, duty calls! Hope you are all enjoying your winter!
