Welcome, Owen Edward York!

We are happy to announce that we welcomed Owen Edward York to our family on November 24, 2010 at 12:36 pm. He was 7lbs 11 oz and 21 inches long. It was a quick and surprisingly easy delivery! We were blessed with another healthy baby boy!

My parents came to stay with Ben and help us out after we came home. They were a huge help. They did all the cooking, cleanup, laundry, basically everything! It was so nice, I was able to just concentrate on recovering and holding my boys. It was very sad to see them go. Ben really enjoyed spending time with this grandparents.

Teena came a few weeks later and was a huge help as well. She changed lots of dirty diapers, picked up many toys, and was the master baker in the kitchen. We enjoyed making fudge, sugar cookies, and chocolate chip cookies. I was also able to get the majority of my Christmas shopping done while she was here, which was key since it is just around the corner! It is great to have family that is so willing to help!

Ben has been adjusting very well to his new brother. He occasionally wants to hold him and much to my dismay, likes to poke his finger in Owen's eye! He also like to hug and kiss him. Ben has also been enjoying baking. He has made cupcakes, pie, cookies, fudge, and Chex mix.

Owen has been an excellent baby. I don't want to jinx myself, but so far he has been very low maintenance. He sleeps a large part of the day and usually only cries when he is hungry. All the madness that can happen having a 2 yr old in the house doesn't seem to bother him. Nights have been very doable. He gets up every three hours to eat, and usually will fall back to sleep. However, the last couple nights he hasn't fallen asleep until 12:30am. That makes for a short night. It really has been a joy to have a newborn in the house again.

The other day all four of us were driving in the car, and it was then that we really felt like a family of four! It is amazing how adding another car seat makes your family feel more complete. We are looking forward to our first Christmas at home with our new family!
Welcome, Owen Edward!

This must be an experienced dad! Dirty diapers don't scare him!
